Timing is half the quiet
Even the famous coasts go quiet on the calendar's edges: Amalfi and the lakes in late September–October and May deliver open restaurants and empty pools; August delivers neither anywhere. Quietest option on the Amalfi Coast specifically?
Monastero Santa Rosa (Conca dei Marini) for silence with a view of the whole coast; Villa Treville for Positano with the volume turned down. Both are small — book 6–9 months out for summer.
Is Lake Como quiet anywhere in summer?
Midweek, yes, away from Bellagio and Varenna docks: the Menaggio and Tremezzo garden shores, and hotels whose grounds are the destination (Villa d'Este, Villa Serbelloni's park). Weekends belong to Milan.
What about Puglia or Sardinia?
